Great Fun and Exciting Birthday Party Can Be Yours!

Are you planning a birthday party for your kid or friend?

How to plan your celebration so that it will be fun and memorable? How to turn a boring party to one that is fun and exciting?

Here are some tips to help you with your birthday party planning:

1. Party Themes

Plan your birthday parties according to the party themes. There are so many birthday themes just ask the birthday boy or girl what is their preference, don't guess.

2. Guest List and Checklist

Make a guest list and party planning checklist - Don't invite the whole town if you have only a budget for your neighbourhood. Having a checklist for planning helps me to remember all the important items I wanted to do. It's a must for every party.

3. Birthday Invitations

You can make cards based on KISS ie keep it simple and special by making your very own cards using recycled materials or printed free ecards and write your very own personal wordings from the heart.

4. Budget

It should be made one of your priorities before you start planning for your party. You should over budget slighty above the actual cost so as to leave some allowance for incidental cost for example something you forgot to list down earlier.

5. Birthday Party Supplies

We are spolit for choice - hunting for best bargains in town or online, as there are really so many birthday party suppliers. However, from my experience, if you want good quality party wares you will have to be prepared to pay more.

6. Party Games , Music and Prizes

What is a celebration without party games, party music and prizes? In fact, it is the number one main reason many people young and old look forward to, at all birthday parties! Choosing the appropriate games, music and prizes takes extra effort. Do make special effort to chose a few sets of prizes for both the boys and girls separately - they will appreciate that thoughfulness and the prizes more!

7. Party Favors

Choose appropriate and memorable party favors. It is a nice gesture to give all your guests a party favor to bring home for them to keep. You can either purchase custom made party favors or if you can made them it is even more personal and precious!

8. Pinata

Children loves pinata and some adults too - I don't know about you but I like the thrill of smashing something while blindfolded and looking forward to something bursting out from it. And if the pinata is hand made by mummy or daddy it makes the party even more exciting. There are so many pinatas in different shapes, colors and sizes available and I am simply amazed with the creativity. Pinatas can be an art piece too if you choose not to break it - nobody do that anyway so do take some pictures of it before it get busted!

9. Birthday Decorations

Choose the birthday decorations according to your birthday party theme. Try to get the same color scheme and party theme for the birthday party supplies for example For kids - if you have Looney tunes cartoons for the balloons, get the same for the plastic or paper cups, bowls, plates, party hats, party banners, table cloth, napkins etc For adults - if you have "Under the sea" party theme you should have seashells porcelain wares, lobster shape bowls for the food, sea animals pictures printed on plastic or paper wares and ocean backdrop as your banner.

10. Birthday Cakes or Party Cakes

Birthday cakes or party cakes are expected at any birthday party celebrations. It is the main focus especially for kids, you will see all the bright smiles when the cake arrived with lighted candles.

The excitement and anticipation for that "moment" - the singing of the birthday song and blowing out the candles must be planned well ahead. Details like getting the BBQ lighter for the candles, the person arriving in with the cake and coordinating with the music and the cutting knife with ribbons should be listed on your party planning checklist.

11. Party Food Planning or Party Menus

Special note for party food planning or party menus: Choose food that you can cook and have enough practise. Try not to attempt something you have not done and you thought it looks simple and nice on the cookbook. You may be heading for some frustrating kitchen moments and wasted time, money and effort. If you do want to try a new recipe, do practice it at least twice before the party.

Catering for party food will definitely ease you from a lot of anxiety and stress. You must apply the same rules for both catering and preparing the menu, that is, never have two dishes that is made of the same ingredients. Do remember to add the veggies and lots of fruits for the health conscious or vegetarian guests. It is also a good practice to have a balanced diet.

12. Party Entertainment

Special attention for adults birthday party entertainment: Audition for that "live band", singer, DJ, actor, impersonator etc if it is possible. If not at least get to see a video of their performance since you are going to pay for the services. Do pay attention to religious sensitivity of those invited especially for the birthday girl or boy if you do require "surprise human poppers".

13. Change Birthday Party Ideas Annually

One thing for sure - your party attendance will drop if your party idea and party theme is the same year after year.
