Fun Christmas Games To Add To Your Yuletide Joy! Christmas games will automatically warm up your Christmas party and it will be lots of fun!
Add some excitement this Christmas, while you are doing your Christmas party planning,
think of some fun physical activities to engage your party guests and they will leave your party with lots of warm and fond memories.
Here are some fun Christmas games to warm up the party:
1. Christmas Decorations Scavenger Hunt
This game needs your neighbors to participate. Get your neighbors to discuss aboutChristmas decorations
for the game in early October. Why not consider a neighborhood Christmas party? Or have separate Christmas parties at your respective homes and then get the party guests at an allocated time to do this Scavenger hunt. Each home will be decorated with different theme for example, one house will be using the red, white and blue theme, and another will be using the Nativity theme. Next house will be using the
Angel’s theme and the next will be Santa and his reindeers etc. Give some papers and pens to your party guests and let them go on a hunt. Get a game master to write down the scores and the time of the various teams. The team that returns first with the correct answer wins the game.
2. Where's Santa?
For this Christmas game, you will need to hide 2 Santa soft toys at the party area, the winner gets to kiss the real Santa (get an adult to dress as one). If it is a Christmas game for singles, get the married friends to be the games master and games helper.
3. Turkey Darting
Make a turkey out of foam. Draw dart chart for scores and the "Turkey's eye" determine the highest score. Paste the turkey dartboard on the wall. For safety precautions have a clothesline tie with red ribbon across to indicate the distance for throwing the darts. Each player will have 5 darts for each play. Standby a game and score master.
4. Penguins netting and throwing
This Christmas game will be lots of splashing fun! Provide each team 20 pieces of plastic toy penguins and 10 fishing nets. Fill 2 big buckets 1/2 full of water. Divide participants into 2 teams. The teams will start at the whistle blow and the first team to finish fishing all the penguins wins.
5. Santa Dress up contest
Provide 2 sets of Santa Costume and boots plus "beard", whip and huge sack for presents. Divide participants into 2 teams and on timer get a volunteer to be dressed up as Santa. The rest of the team members will have to use whatever materials that is provided for the Santa costume for example you can have ready made Santa top and pant. The cotton wool will have to be "glue" onto the face, presents to be wrapped using recycled or newspapers. The winning team will be the one that is most creative.
6. Christmas Tree Decorating
This Christmas game can be played either indoors or outdoors. Give two teams one Christmas tree each (depending on your budget you can give them a child size tree) with the Christmas tree ornaments and Christmas lights. You can give them crepe papers, construction papers and metallic papers to design their own ornaments. Or alternatively, you can give them a huge Christmas tree ask all your party guests to bring a bear each to decorate the tree. The team that comes out with the most creative decorations for the Christmas tree wins.
7. Christmas songs or Christmas music charade
This Christmas game will require you to get a list of 50or more names of Christmas songs and Christmas music.
Divide the party into two teams. The team that guess correctly the most number of Christmas songs or music wins.
8. Oops! I forget the Christmas song’s lyrics
Get a DJ to play Christmas Karaoke songs. Form two karaoke teams. Get all the participants to choose their favorite Christmas songs. Erase or "blackout the TV screen" except the music and continue playing the song. Contestants who forget the lyrics will be ousted. The winner is the one who finishes the whole song.
9. American Idol sings Christmas songs
Get 3 judges and as many contestants you want. All contestants will sing only Christmas songs in different genre: rock, jazz, modern and traditional. Give the rest of the guests a Polaroid camera and get them to click away. Get all your guests to paste selected candid photos on empty poster boards or art board specially made for this occasion. Dress the border up with the American idol logo downloaded from the website. The winner is the one that gets the highest scores from the 3 judges and the most number of his or her pictures pasted on the boards.
10. Snowball fight anyone?
This is an outdoor game. Adults and children all loves to snowball fight. Why not play it differently? Collect snow from your team members who throw snowball at you in a bucket. The team that collects that heaviest bucket of snow wins. And the winning team gets to throw snowball at the losing team. Form separate teams for kids and adults. Ensure that everyone participating has got extra warm clothing for change later.
11. Best Snowman contest
This game is of course played outdoors. Form as many teams as possible to create that unique snowman. Allow each team to bring their own "accessories" to decorate their snowman. Each team must come up with a theme for the snowman or snowwoman. It can be a Hawaiian theme for example snowman can wear slippers, Hawaiian printed shorts, surfboard, hat, sunglasses etc. Or he can don a cowboy jeans, boots, hat, scarf, checked shirt, and whip etc. Similarly the team that has the most creative snowman or snowwoman wins.
12. Christmas Socks guessing game
Put 12 socks at your fireplace area or the walls at the main party area. Put in "lucky top 3 prizes" cards in 3 of the socks. You can be creative in your prizes, depending on your budget, it can be expensive presents like jewelry or electronic gadgets or it can be homemade presents like Christmas cookies or jewelry box. (You can separate the adults and kids prizes by using different size socks).
