Celebrate Fathers Day and Have Great Fun!

Fathers Day is celebrated on 15th June every year.

Let this celebration be our chance to pray for, thank and honor our fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers and those who stand in for our fathers in our lives!

Every year I had to spend a lot of time to think of new ideas to celebrate and to buy the appropriate gifts for my dad. There's a lot more Mothers Day gift ideas and availability of gift packages than Fathers Day. Ask yourself these questions:

How many more ties does your dad need? Did he mentioned that he need a new shaver or something like that recently?

What are the things that your father need most? Your time?

The lack of available ideas that should not deter us from celebrating Fathers Day. It takes a little more time and thought to come up with creative ideas to spend time with our dads and give appropriate gifts. Even if we have no time to DIY our gifts, it's the thought that counts!

Here are some ideas for Fathers Day celebration and gifts:

For first time dads

Wives why not get away with the new dad for a romantic weekend away? (If you have someone trust worthy to take care of the new born) If not, a night out with first time dad (it's also a breather for you) will be a great way for de-stressing! Give him a soothing and relaxing classical music cd combined with a good massage.

For adventure and travel loving dads:

Consider a boating trip with your dad, a short trip with your dad to ski, climb mountains or white water rafting or book a cruise so that the whole family can go on a vacation or fly to your grandfather's hometown and celebrate Fathers Day with him too! If you are skillful in craft work, why not knit him a muffler or hat or sweater? These items will be handy for travel in cold weather.

For sports loving dads:

Depending on his interests, you can play golf, swim, dive, fishing, tennis and football etc with him. Or buy a set of golf equipment; replace old golf balls or tennis racquets etc

For dads who love music:

Depending on his musical tastes, you can buy the hottest rock, classical or musical concert/theatre tickets and accompany him to the concert. Or buy iPOD, MP3 players for music loving dads on the move. Download for him his favorite music for his MP3 or iPOd.

For dads who loves video gaming:

Buy the latest Sony Playstation3 or Microsoft XBox and their games and have fun playing together. Join in the gaming competition together!

For dads who are computer wizards, loves anything and everything about computers:

Buy them the latest and lightest and sleek laptop on the market (some can be just 7 to 10 inches), or consider subscribing for them the most popular computer or tech magazines. Or buy him a mobile storage that can backup all his precious files on his computer.

For dads who loves all the tech stuff:

Consider Apple's iPhone, Sports Watches like Polar Electro RS800G3 that has a wireless heart rate readings device, Motorokr S605 bluetooth stereo headsets, Blackberry Pearl 8110, Sony HDR-TG1E video camera, iPod nano etc.

For dads who likes to be well groomed:

Book a spa and massage for both of you or buy a spa and bath set, cosmetics, latest fragrances or perfumes for dad.

For all granddads:

Organise a family reunion or get together. Get all your siblings and children involved in the party planning process. Have every family member contribute a food item, games or performance etc. Buy or DIY your gifts, it can be hand made pottery, painting or cookies. Or knit hat, shoes, gloves for golf or just polish or do a general overhaul of his car or his favorite turntable (those machine that plays music records).

Just spend time and give gifts from your heart.

Happy Fathers Day to all!
