Fun And Exciting Party Games

Party games are the ice breaker, the gel or the main course for all parties.

Party games warm up an environment especially where most people there meet for the first time. It also brings out the fun and laughter to an otherwise restraint party guests and dull atmosphere.

Party games

Want to organise a party that your loved one or child will never forget? Yes, a great party theme, beautiful decorations, a huge, home-made pinata, delicious food and the cutest birthday cake are important ingredients for a successful party. What makes a birthday party a huge success and a really memorable one is a few well planned and fun party games. Carefully chosen party games can be those that coordinates well with your party theme.

TIPS FOR ORGANISING PARTY GAMES

Choosing the Right Party Games

What games are right for your party? First, you should have already decided on your party theme. You can plan your games with the party theme in mind. Next you have to decide on the party music , games and music go hand in hand. Choose appropriate music for the right games. There are some party games that can be purchased online and at the shops while some of the popular games can be changed to adapt to your party theme.

Select Age Appropriate Games

There are hundreds of games to choose from and you may not have played most of them. Why not ask the birthday boy or girl or your friends to brainstorm together for the games. Yes, get friends to recommend those tried and tested ones that prove to be a hit with most (taking into consideration of the age of the guests and the games being played).

This is especially important if the party is for very young children. Avoid games that may cause choking, fire hazards, contain sharp edged objects or toys that contains toxic chemicals eg lead, water and slippery surfaces. Games for the very young also need to be those that the children can relate to, can understand how to play and does not pose too great a challenge that they become bored and therefore lose interest.

Party Venue, Safety and Space Considerations

You will have to know the space constraints and the venue of the party well. For example, if the party is held in a garden and you intend to play relay games, you may have to check out the area for sharp objects like broken glass etc. You will have to marked out the area in which you would like to hold the games and the area where you would like to demarcate for barbeque for example. The worst nightmare for any host is that the games participants accidentally knock into a pot of boiling soup.

For all outdoor events, always plan as if you are having two parties on the same day. You will need two sets of games for both indoors and outdoors, in case the weather is not in your favour.

Be Accommodating and Flexible

You may have the games played the usual way but as the games leader, you will have to be flexible and nimble to adapt your games to play to the situation. If your game is not going well and you sense that people are being bored. Move on to another game. When the sunny weather change to a cloudy one, do make a quick exit to playing some indoor games before anyone gets soaked.

Well-prepared and Set Up

Like any event, it is very important that you test out all sound and audio equipments, mikes, polaroid cameras, video camcorders, CD players etc. Nothing is worse than being a stressed up and frustrated games leader, you will affect the mood of everyone at the party. A smooth start to any party, is one that has all the equipments and party games well prepared ahead of the party and properly set up.

Fun is Key

Always remember - FUN is key to all parties. Make everyone happy, give away prizes as generously as you can. It will help if you make everyone a winner!
