Smart & Fun Teens Party Ideas

All teenagers have their own teens party ideas. They want to be popular, to be seen with good fun and famous peers in schools.

How to come up with a few teens party ideas and turn it into unique and fun parties that reflect your style and character?

Yes, you can! With a few tips from here plus some imagination from you and your friends, you are well on your way to organizing some great parties! :)

Getting Started

Start by gathering a few great pals to join in the fun of brainstorming, planning and organizing your party together. Consider all the pros and cons of all the teens party ideas that you can think of.

Why not gather them during your break time and after school. Let's make it your special project together. Choose teens party ideas based on activities you and your friends really enjoy doing for example, sports, games, movies, outdoor camping, biking, skate boarding, ball games, tennis or badminton, dancing etc

Show Your Maturity And Being Responsible

Start by sharing your teens party ideas with your parents. Who says it's not cool to get your parents involved in your parties planning ? Get them involved if you get bumps along the way or help in the preparation stage. They can be your adviser but you can still be the CEO in charge of getting all the planning and logistics done. As the saying goes: many hands makes work light.

Showing your skills and maturity is how you handle the "getting your own parents involved bit". Manage your parents and not allowing them to take over and let them trust you to hold a fun, exciting and responsible teens party is a great skill to acquire.

PLUS you can also write a good resume for your future career for organizing great parties outside of your studies and it shows good leadership and maturity, this will add an edge to your landing a good job in the future. This is like "killing two birds with one stone".

With a few teens party ideas written down on paper, sit down with your parents to indicate your objectives and budget. The party may be for your birthday celebration, passing your driver's license, graduation, getting top grades in school etc. Whatever the objectives, justify your celebration with a detailed plan or proposal.

Let Your Parents Know Your Friends

You may invite your friends and their parents over for your teens party so that your folks can get to know them better. Many family friendships lasts for years because they grew up together. Many great and creative teens party ideas were formed because of collective ideas. Sadly, as our pace of life increased momentum over the last decade, many people don't have the luxury to really get to know one another and form lasting, meaningful friendships. Having a party is a great opportunity for relationships to form.

Party Themes

You really have to decide on having a theme or not. If you have some teens party ideas and have not decided on a party theme, why not get a few friends together to brainstorm on the different themes? Having party ideas are like the ingredients for making the cake while the themes are the icing and decorations for the cake. The whole cake plus the packaging must be presented together to make it look and taste delicious! So, to make your teens party memorable and fun, you will need both ideas and theme blended and executed well together!

Party Decorations

One of the interesting teens party ideas is to rent a community hall (if your budget permits). Get your friends to work on discarded card box or giant posters with the theme in mind. If you have friends who can do wooden backdrops than you can add some of the theme characters at the entrance way or the stage area.

Balloons may not be so hip for teens, why not try decorating the party venue with recycled materials that you and your friends make? For example, if your theme is "Princess and Knights" you can also make a castle wall at your own home entrance. Throw a two to three meter long red carpet leading to the King's and Queen's seat the middle of the hall against the wall. Borrow or rent and decorate the huge armchairs with gold color metallic papers/foil. Get a round table and throw a red color table cloth with gold trimmings on the side to be placed in the middle of the hall/living room. Place 7 swords (you can get them at Toy 'R' Us or any local toy shops) on the table. Place the party food on the same table.

Invitations

The invitation or birthday invitations will set the tone and expectation of your guests. For example, if you have picked "Knights of the Round Table" as the party theme, you will have to make or print matching invitation cards with the outline or cut out of a castle or a knight on a horse to suit the theme. You can write on the invitation cards:

His Royal Highness, King Edward IV and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth III has cordially invited (name of invitee) to their only son, Prince Edward V's Royal Birthday Ball on (date) (time) at the Royal Castle at (address). Please come in your finest Royal costume complete with masks.

Party Games And Music

The party games and music for teens party should preferably be associated or related to the party theme. Pick an entrance music, for example if you have a castle theme party, your party music can be a royal fanfare or all hail the king type of music. Have the friend to play the DJ wearing the costume of the royal jester or the like.

Teens Party Food Planning tips

Here are tens tips for teens party ideas for food/menu planning:

Tip number one:

You will need to be certain the number of people turning out for the party. So get your RSVP as early as you can, preferable at least one and half week before the celebration. You will need to buy, order and prepare food ahead of the day.

Tip number two:

Yeah, all teenagers like yourself have surprisingly and amazing appetite! So make sure you figure out the food and drinks portion well. You do not want your guests to go hungry at the end or worse, you have to call pizza delivery half way through your party.

Tip number three:

You can have a mixture of food cooked by yourself with the help of your parents and also order deliveries like pizza, tacos, burgers and wraps. Do bear in mind to eat and drink healthy. Yes, even for party food you can have tasty food and yet maintain a healthy and balanced diet at the same time. Choose less salt, less fat and less calories. There are so many healthy choices available. Your guests will thank you for that.

Tip number four:

Choose 4 to 5 cans of soda or a mixture of juices and soda for a healthier choice! Make sure you have enough ice and coolers for all the drinks. If you do not want anyone to be in trouble with the police including yourself, it is best that you state in your invitation: Strictly no alcohol, drugs and sex.

Tip number five:

Choose to cook at least one or two meals that are staple food and substantial for teens for example seafood/meat pasta, pie or rice dishes.

Tip number six:

Offer make yourself a sandwich bar area where the party goers can mix and match their different types of sandwiches. Do not attempt to allow them to make their own sandwiches unless you are prepared to clean up the mess. Ensure that you label all the sandwiches well and picking tongs are strategically place at each sandwich tray.

Tip number seven:

Keep one or two ice coolers for cut fruits and jellies and any perishable food like cold cuts and sushi or raw oysters. Try to avoid raw food as much as possible as there were number of food poisoning cases because the food were left in room temperature and the bacteria mutliplied.

Tip number eight:

Offer two to three types of healthy and tasty soups (especially clear soups). Soups especially helps lubricate the throats and lungs after eating too much dry, fried meats, chips and drinking sodas.

Tip number nine:

You can forget about fine dining for teens as they will waste their bountiful energy seated. It will be more efficient to let your guests help themselves to the food using disposables. Ensure you have enough for double the amount that you usually cater for adults party. Opt for bigger plates, bowls etc.

Tip number ten:

Ensure that you have enough trash bags and collection points for disposables. Also ensure that the trash bags are emptied quickly enough so that the trash will not overflow and make a mess of the party venue. Have all trash bags placed on top of a deep pail or deep trash bin so that the liquid will not flow out and destroy your lovely carpet or cause your party attendees to slip and fall. Or locate all trash bags in the kitchen area or backyard preferably with close lids.
