Please do ask your bakers many questions, it will help to know what kind of ingredients goes into the cake, icing, decorations etc. Ensure that they give you a breakdown of all the items the decorations including delivery charges. Ask how the cakes can match the theme, co-ordinate with your

gowns,
bridesmaids' dresses and work with the wedding florist on your wedding day.

Choosing the baker
Most bakeries allow you to sample their cakes and show you a large portfolio for your selection. Do take note of interesting pictures taken at the various wedding receptions and how different couples decorate their wedding receptions according to the different themes. You can get some inspiration and come up with your very own idea and theme for your wedding. Don't forget to incorporate these ideas in your selected wedding cakes!
Ordering
Once you have decided on the bakery, reserve a date and place deposit for your cake to be delivered on your wedding day. Most bakery will need about one-and-half to two months' notice.
Delivery
Get your maid-of-honour or your mum to call the bakery two days before your wedding day to ensure that the baker is right on track on their delivery. Just in case.
