Beautiful Wedding Favors For All!

Giving wedding favors is your way of saying thank you to all who take their precious time off to celebrate your union.

It will also make your wedding more memorable if all your guests can bring home a slice of that occassion home for keepsake.

Wedding Favors

Specially personalized, crafted and carefully chosen gifts adds that special touch of sincerity and it warms the hearts of the recipients. So when you are doing your wedding planning, do remember to include this in your wedding planning checklist.

If purchasing wedding favors will burst your wedding budget, why not consider making your very own? With some creativity and clever use of materials, you will impress your wedding guests with your creativity by giving something that you made from your hearts. Everyone likes unique, one of its kind gifts and the gifts you hand made is not only unique and special, it can't be bought any where and you can't put a price tag on it.

Here are some tips in choosing or making your very own wedding favors:

1. When purchasing your gift at the store or online get the supplier to show you the different ways of personalizing the items.

2. Embossing, engraving or imprinting can be expensive unless you purchase in bulk. Ask which type and methods they are offering at a discount and ask for samples.

3. Get your supplier to show you a sample before they go ahead to emboss, engrave or impress the words. Pay close attention to the spelling, once the consignment is ready and you found that there's an error, you may have the money to redo but time is not on your side, as the wedding date is getting near.

4. Schedule your delivery time at least a month before your wedding day so that you can gather friends and family to do the quality checking and gift wrapping. If the supplier can do the wrapping plus the labeling that will be great. Remember to factor in the additional cost unless they offer to do it free of charge.

My wedding supplier not only gift wrapped my wedding favors and tagged them, they also delivered it to the hotel where our wedding ceremony and reception were held. This is because the boss is my personal friend. That saved me a lot of precious time to focus on my wedding planning.

5. Consider making wedding favors that marks your personality and character. You can make your favors based on your wedding theme, your favorite hobby, for example if both of you like surfing, you can get or make mini surf boards as gifts. If you are a couple from different countries, you can combine the uniqueness and symbols of both countries for example a gift with East meets West theme. Does your wedding takes place during the holiday season like Valentine's Day? You can choose anything from heart shaped pillows to heart shaped candies in crystal jars, there's a great variety to choose from.

6. When shopping for raw materials to make your own wedding favors, do go to the stores that offer sale items in bulk. You may purchase these items during the summer sale period. Plan your purchase as early as a year ahead so that you don't miss the great sales period. (Note: Try not to purchase these near festive period for example Christmas Day, Mothers' Day, Fathers' Day to avoid the crowds and price hikes!)

7. Doing all the wrapping, cutting and labeling can be very tedious especially when you have 101 items on your wedding planning checklist. Gather your wedding team, bridesmaids and helpers to help you with these tasks. This is also a good opportunity to let everyone get to know each other better before your wedding.

8. There are good value for money gifts at craft stores and online stores, you may do a little shopping around, not necessarily buying everything from one store. You can mix and match all the pieces, play around with all the colors and transform your creative ideas into fantastic, out-of-this-world, home made favors.

9. Most brides and grooms will not have the time and energy to do their own wedding favors. Brainstorm an idea, a concept or look through bridal magazines and online stores. Do your research and you may find some beautiful gems in the "hay stack" of stores that offer great and unique variety of wedding favors.

May you get your ideal gifts.
